On 29 April, it was announced that Lord and Lady Nicholas Windsor are expecting their third child. As a result, Lady Nicholas Windsor is the oldest royal mother-to-be at forty five years old.

Articles have said that one of the couple’s Catholic friends has said that “it is a miracle that Paola is having her child at her age so soon after the ceremony of the Popes”.

Lord and Lady Nicholas Windsor already have two children, Albert Windsor (born in 2007) and Leopold Windsor (born in 2009). Both children were christened as Catholics. Albert was christened in the Queen’s Chapel of St. James’s Palace in London, England; whilst Leopold was christened by Cardinal Comastri at St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican.

The couple were married civilly on 19 October 2006 in a register office in London, England. This was then followed by a religious ceremony which took place at the Church of Santo Stefano degli Abissini in the Vatican. Lady Nicholas’s parents are members of the Croatian nobility, and she was born as Paola Domi de Lupis de Frankopan.
