Lord and Lady Frederick Windsor have introduced their newborn daughter, in a spread in the current issue of Hello! magazine.

Maud Elizabeth Daphne Marina made her debut in photographs taken at the couple’s home in Los Angeles, and feature the infant with her parents and paternal grandparents, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent.

Little Maud’s names are all derived from her parents’ families. “We liked the idea of an old-fashioned English name and there are a couple of Princess Mauds in my father’s family from a hundred years ago,” Lord Frederick said in the interview, before adding that Elizabeth is in honour of the Queen, Daphne is for Lady Frederick’s grandmother, and Marina is for his paternal grandmother, Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent.

Lady Frederick, actress Sophie Winkleman, said that her labour was “long and hard”, but that her husband was the “perfect birthing partner.” Lord Freddie was lucky that no kitchenware was on hand, as his wife was ready to throw a saucepan at him at one point of her labour.
