Frederik and Mary Begin Chilean Visit
Initially billed as a state visit to be undertaken by Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik, the Danish Crown Princely Couple yesterday began an official visit to Chile. The couple landed at the airport in Santiago in the morning, several hours ahead of their first event.
Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary began with a trek through the Quebrada de Macul nature park, which showcases a view of Santiago from the top of the mountains.
In the evening, the couple were guests of honour at a dinner at El Mesón Nerudiano hosted by Lars Steen Nielsen, the Danish Ambassador to Chile. Also present were members of the 55 company-strong Danish business delegation accompanying the Crown Prince Couple on the trip. Crown Princess Mary recycled a black Diane von Furstenberg dress, while Crown Prince Frederik debuted a new, unsuccessful hairstyle.
The Crown Prince Couple will be in Chile until March 15.
