King Juan Carlos Turns 75

His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain celebrated his 75th birthday on Saturday January 5th. The Spanish Monarch was born in Rome, the eldest son of Infante Juan, Count of Barcelona and Princess María de las Mercedes, during the Royal Family’s exile.

His Majesty has been King of Spain since November 1975, and to mark his 75th birthday, he granted a rare television interview. During the 20 minute interview, His Majesty spoke candidly about his legacy, his late father and the current Spanish economic crisis.
