Frederik & Mary visit the US – Days 5 & 6
Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary remained in Colorado on Thursday, with the Crown Prince attending the Sportaccord 2009 conference in Denver.
Frederik praised Sportaccord’s success in creating a world-known conference, stating in his speech: “You have made Sportaccord into a widely recognized event, which annually brings together the World of Sport and enhances new initiatives.” Watch a video of Frederik’s speech here. While Frederik was at the conference, Princess Mary had a private schedule.
On Friday March 27th, the royal couple luckily moved to their final destination: New York City. There were concerns that the pair and their entourage would be left in Denver, after a snow blizzard caused the majority of flights out of Denver’s International Aiport to be cancelled.
However, Frederik and Mary made it to the Big Apple, and happily attended their final event of the tour: the American-Scandinavian Foundation’s annual gala dinner at the Pierre Hotel. The pair are expected to return to Denmark over the weekend.
