King Juan Carlos on Official Visit to India

His Majesty King Juan Carlos paid an official visit to the Republic of India from October 24th until October 27th.
His Majesty arrived at the International Airport in Mumbai late in the evening of Wednesday October 24th, and was received by the Spanish Ambassador. The King had arrived with four Spanish government ministers and a trade delegation as the aim of this visit was to boost and promote Spanish economics in the region.
The following day, His Majesty hosted a reception in Mumbai for members of the Spanish community and following this, King Juan Carlos hosted a business lunch for Indian and Spanish entrepreneurs.
On October 26th, the King went on to New Delhi where he was warmly welcomed at the Presidential Palace by the President of the Republic of India, Pranab Mukherjee, and the Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh. King Juan Carlos later laid a wreath of flowers on the tomb of Mahatma Gandhi.
Later that evening, the King attended an official dinner in New Dehli hosted by the President, this concluded the Official Visit to India by the Spanish Monarch.Filed under Spanish Royals
