From Punk Princess to Princess Carnival
02/09/2009 Fürstin Gloria of Thurn und Taxis attended the annual ceremony of the Aachen Carnival Association (AKV) where actor Mario Adorf was presented as this years ‘knight’ in the order of ‘Wider den Tierischen Ernst’. Last year this honour fell to the former punk princess, due to ‘her charm, wit and her fantastic laugh’ according to AKV’s president Horst Wollgarten. To welcome this year’s new knight, Gloria held a comical laudatory speech about Mario Adorf on the stage of the Eurogress Halls in Aachen, which was broadcasted live on German national television by the ARD. The Fürstin pretended to be a reporter of the gossip press and told the audience that she was always chasing Mario Adorf and about her troubles in arranging an interview with him. After Gloria’s previous transformations from punk and party princess, to business women, to orthodox catholic it remains to be seen if the transformation to princess carnival will be her last one, alaaf!
