  3. Archie1954 says:

Why some of the children given the honorific HRH (his royal highness)and others only HSH (his serene highness)?

  4. theodemaxx says:

    Dear Archie1954

Because the second wife was still a commoner, not a princess. By the palace act, if a monarch’s son married to a commoner, their children will be HSH. However, if he married to a princess (a commoner who was granted to be a princess by her own right,) their children will be HRH.

In thailand, all princesses are by her own right, not by her husband. So you can see the Crown Prince’s wife is HRH Princess Srirasmi, not HRH the Crown Princess.

  5. theodemaxx says:

And for HRH Princess Siriwannawari Nariratana, once she was HSH but the King granted her to be HRH later.

    Not really my favourite.
