Prince William Shows Prince Charles Around The RAF Valley
Prince William had a very special guest at the base at RAF Valley on Anglesey where is stationed – his father. The Prince of Wales was welcomed at the Search and Rescue operation by Flight Lieutenant Wales, as his son is known in his unit.
Right before Prince Charles’ arrival, there was a call for help; since Prince William was on shift, his father’s arrival had to be delayed for about an hour. During the tour, the Duke of Cambridge showed his father around a Sea King helicopter. William took to the captain’s seat, while Prince Charles – a skilled pilot himself – occupied the co-pilot’s seat as his son showed him the controls of the aircraft.
Their respective wives opted to spend some ladies’ time together; the Duchess of Cornwall popped in to have tea with the Duchess of Cambridge at the rented farmhouse Kate and William share.
Two days earlier the entire nation was glued to their TV screens watching the Murray – Federer match; the Duchess of Cambridge was in the Royal Box at Wimbledon, watching the spectacular game. Prince William, however, was absent, citing an “existing commitment” – and it became apparent just what the commitment was when he joined his younger brother, Prince Harry, on a day out. The young Princes and some of their friends, all wearing wetsuits, ventured into the waves in Cornwall for a spot of surfing.
