Queen Sofia Opens “The Last Raphael” Exhibition

Her Majesty The Queen has presided over the opening of the “The Last Raphael” exhibition at the Museo del Prado in Madrid.
Queen Sofia was accompanied by the President of the Congress of Deputies, Mr Jesus Posada, the President of the Chamber of Deputies of Italy, Mr Gianfranco Fini and the Spanish Minister of Education, Culture and Sports, Mr José Ignacio Wert. This major exhibition is the first to focus on work from the last years of the career of Italian painter of the High Renaissance, Raphael.
Queen Sofia was given a guided tour of the exhibition, and greatly admired several of the masterpieces on display, including the altarpiece St. Cecilia and the Holy Family with Saint John.
The exhibition is sponsored by the AXA Foundation and will open to the public on June 12th and will run until the September 16th this year.Filed under Spanish Royals
