With all eyes on the Queen, the outfit she would chose to wear for the Pageant was certain to attract a lot of attention – and Her Majesty made sure she didn’t disappoint onlookers. Her entire ensemble was carefully thought through and meticulously designed. Queen Elizabeth wore an ivory dress and coat in white Boucle fabric and threaded throughout with silk ribbon, designed by Angela Kelly. The Boucle had been embroidered with gold, silver and ivory spots and embellished with Swarovski crystals to reflect the River Thames. The Queen’s hat had a swept up brim, the crown of which is made of the same material as the coat and details include feathers hand dyed in Buckingham Palace by one of Angela Kelly’s team. The magnificent Jardine Star Brooch, along with a three-strand pearl necklace and Queen Mary’s Pearl Button earrings, gave the ensemble a finishing touch.

Other royal ladies didn’t disappoint either. The Duchess of Cornwall looked wonderful in a cream Anna Valentine coat and dress, and a Philip Treacy hat, combining the outfit with exquisite pearl and diamond choker, and pearl button earrings.

The Duchess of Cambridge opted for a bright vermilion red Alexander McQueen dress, teaming it with a Sylvia Fletcher hat from James Lock, LK Bennet courts, a red clutch, and a Strathearn tartan scarf – a nod to her Scottish title of the Countess of Strathearn. Catherine doesn’t usually wear a lot of jewellery, but she did put on a lovely brooch made of two silver dolphins – a gift from the Royal Navy submarines.

The Countess of Wessex wore an Emilia Wickstead print dress – the same one she has worn during Monaco Grand Prix 2012 events recently. Meanwhile, Princess Beatrice wore a Suzannah silver and navy dress with a navy blue coat by Marni, as well as an eye-catching silver and pink Stephen Jones hat. Princess Eugenie, meanwhile, wore a coral Roland Mouret dress with a Moschino cardigan, a coral Stephen Jones hat, and LK Bennett shoes. Princess Anne opted to wear a uniform, like her brothers and nephews.
