The Danish Royal Family attended a gala dinner this evening to mark the fortieth anniversary of the World Wide Fund for Nature Denmark.

Queen Margrethe II, Prince Henrik, Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie were all present for the gala, and Prince Henrik – after arriving to the event in a golf cart with his wife – was on hand to greet all of the guests.

The dinner was held at the Orangery of Fredensborg Palace, and was attended by Gitte Seeberg, WWF Denmark’s Secretary General. Also present were Prince Henrik’s dachshunds.

It seemed that there was some inconsistencies with the dress code, as several members of the Royal Family appeared to be dressed for a themed party. Queen Margrethe wore a pink Chinese-inspired floor-length coat, Prince Henrik a Chinese top and Crown Princess Mary a ‘psychedelic’ flowered floor-length caftan, over black pants. Needless to say, the less said about the family’s clothing choices for this event, the better!

WWF Denmark was founded in May 1972 by Prince Henrik. The first aim of WWF Denmark was to raise funds for other organisations who assist in saving endangered species.
