Presentation of Credentials & Diplomatic Corps Reception
On Monday January 10, 2012, His Majesty the King recieved the credentials of new ambassadors from Tunisia, Sweden, Pakistan, Andorra, Romania and Ecuador. This very formal ceremony always takes place at the Palacio Real in Madrid.
On January 24th, 2012, the Royal Family presided over the annual reception for the Diplomatic Corps at the Palacio Real in Madrid. Present this year were Their Majesties the King and Queen and Their Royal Highnesses the Prince and Princess of Asturias. Also present was the new Spanish Prime Minister, Mariano Rajoy, and the Spanish Foreign Affairs Minister.
The King later addressed the gathered foreign diplomats with a speech delivered from the Throne Room of the Palacio Real.
