On Monday December 19th, the traditional Christmas shoot took place at the Royal Palace. This year, photos of the Royal Couple together with the Crown Prince Family were taken in the Red Parlour. Queen Sonja read “Hvordan snøen fikk farge” (“How the snow got colour”), an old tale retold by Dan Lindholm.

Prince Sverre Magnus was quite interested in the Christmas tree and couldn’t sit still, while Princess Ingrid Alexandra was more observing.

According to court reporter Kjell Arne Totland, the annual private Christmas party with several family members took place in the Great Banquet Hall after the shoot.

The Royal Couple will spend Christmas Eve with the Crown Prince family at Skaugum. They will attend the church service on Christmas Eve in Asker Church. Princess Märtha Louise and her family will celebrate Christmas together with her in-laws in Lommedalen.

Pictures and a video of the photo shoot can be found here.
