Prince Daniel Awards Golden Gavel
Today in Stockholm, HRH Prince Daniel awarded the 2011 edition of the ‘Guldklubban’ (Golden Gavel). The event took place at Stockholm’s Grand Hôtel.
The Prince presented the award to two men, Lars Göran Johannson of Willo and Lars-Erik Nilsson of Axis Communications. Mr Johannson was selected in the private sector because of his contributions into turning Willo into an “international hi-tech business”. Mr Nilsson was selected for the listed sector because of large growth of Axis Communications, allowed by the security and confidence he brought to the board and employees. Each man received the award’s statuette, an Erika Lagerbielke-designed crystal gavel.
The Golden Gavel has been presented annually since 2005, to chairpersons of businesses – one from the stock-exchange listing and one from the private sector – who perform outstandingly in their role. The award aims to “highlight the crucial role of the chair for efficient, effective and business-oriented board work”.
