10th Wedding Anniversary of Haakon & Mette-Marit
Today, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit are celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary. The couple married on August 25th 2001 in Oslo Cathedral.
The engagement of Crown Prince Haakon of Norway and Mette-Marit Tjessem Høiby was announced on December 1st 2000. Back then Mette-Marit was already a single-mother of her little son Marius Borg Høiby (born 1997).
After marrying the Crown Prince Mette-Marit became “Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway”.
The couple has two children: Princess Ingrid Alexandra (born in 2004) and Prince Sverre Magnus (born in 2005).
Today, on August 25th 2011 the Crown Prince and Crown Princess celebrate their 10th anniversary.
There will be a commemorative service in Oslo Cathedral. Later there’ll be a concert at the University Square in Oslo.
In the evening the King and Queen will host a dinner at the Royal Palace to celebrate the Crown Princely couple’s anniversary.
