Hamdan Awards name Sultan Distinguished Personality of the Year

The Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Awards for Distinctive Academic Performance has named Supreme Council member and ruler of Sharjah, H. H. Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Distinguished Personality of the Year in recognition of his initiatives to enhance and spread education and knowledge at local, Arab and international levels.

Minister of Education and Chairman of the Award’s Board of Trustees Dr Hanif Hassan said: ”The selection of Sheikh Sultan as the Distinguished Personality of the Year is adding more value to the standing of the award locally, regional and internationally.” He added ”Sheikh Sultan is making tireless efforts to preserve Arab and Islamic heritage and culture…his great contributions have won him several regional and international honours”
