Football Match on the Beach: Princess Stephanie Plays and Fights Against AIDS
At first, we could say that they don’t share any interests. However, this past Saturday December 11th, Princess Stephanie of Monaco, former French football player Zinedine Zidane and Colombian singer Soraya joined forces to fight AIDS in a benefit football match on the beach to raise funds for Fight AIDS Monaco, the benefit organization that the younger daughter of Grace Kelly presides over, and the “Une sourire, un espoir pour la vie” (And Smile, A Hope for Life) organization created by former archer of Lyon and Marsella, Pascal Olmeta. The organization’s goal is to improve the physical, psychological and emotinal development of ill children and their families.
Zinedine Zidane didn’t have to wear his football boots, because the match was in a sand field, created specially for the occasion, so the players wouldn’t have any difficulties in game field. Blue and orange were the chosen colours for the different teams and besides Zidane himself, Eric Cantona, Marco Simone and Bernard Laporte (amongst others) were the players that gave everything in this match.
Soraya published pictures of the match on her personal Twitter account, expressing how excited she was to meet Princess Stephanie.Filed under Monaco Royals
