Crown Princess Maxima opens new Microfinance Business Center
This morning, Princess Maxima paid a working visit to Dordrecht as a member of the Council of Microfinance. During the visit Princess Maxima opened the new Microfinance Entrepreneur Point in the Town Office. The Princess was welcomed by host D. van Steensel, Alderman labor and employment, social affairs and finance.
The first part of the visit was concluded with the awarding of the 1,000 microcredits from Qredits by Drs D. Laman Trip, President of the Council of Microfinance. Qredits is a national microcredit provider, offering entrepreneurs the possibility of a micro-credit of up to 35,000Euros.
Afterwards, the Princess took part in a roundtable on the theme ‘Starters and Microfinance in Dordrecht and the Region’. To end her visit, Princess Maxima visited the “Apartment Chance” in Wielwijk where she was received by the coordinator of the Chance Flat, Mr van Burgel. In this apartment, entrepreneurs can rent a room and they are assisted in starting their business. Then, the Princess was given a short tour and met with some of the flat-based, entrepreneurs.
Microfinance in the Netherlands is provided to people with good business plans, but who need help in developing their plans or when they cannot get money from the bank. With coaching and credit, they get the opportunity to put their plans into reality. Entrepreneurs can go to one of the MF-42 intake points for entrepreneurs, advice and applying for credit.
