Qatari Royals’ Jump of Excitement

December 2, 2010 is a day for all Qatari’s to remember, as their dream of hosting the World Cup 2022 turned into reality.

The Qatari delegations headed by the Emir and his wife were all waiting anxiously for the results to be called out. When Qatar was named as the winning host, everyone jumped out of their seats of excitemen,t while Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad and Sheikha Hind bint Hamad’s children had an emotional moment.

Giving a speech after the wining host was announced, Qatar 2022 Bid Committee Chairman Sheikh Mohammad bin Hamad Al Thani said, “On behalf of millions of people living in the Middle East, thank you.” He went on saying, “Thank you for believing in us, thank you for having such bold vision. Thank you also for acknowledging this is the right time for the Middle East. We have a date with history which is summer 2022. We will not let you down. We will make you proud.”

The World Cup has never been held in the Arab world, where soccer is one of the most popular sports. Mr. Seep Blatter said: “We go to new lands. Never has the World Cup been in Russia and Eastern Europe, and the Middle East and Arabic world have been waiting for a long time so I’m a happy president when we talk about the development of football.” Congratulations to Qatar on the historic win.
