Qatari Royals attend Bid Committee for Hosting World Cup 2022

HH the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, and his spouse HH Sheikha Mozah Nasser al-Misnad, along with Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad al-Thani, chairman of the Qatar 2022 Bid Committee and the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani, will all be present today in Zurich to witness the final presentation of the Qatar Bid Committee for hosting World Cup 2022 at the FIFA headquarters.

Qatar News Agency (QNA) said “HH Sheikha Mozah Nasser al-Misnad will also take part in the presentation ceremony during which she will shed light on the humanitarian aspects of the bid in addition to the positive effects that can be induced by organising such an international tournament in the Middle East at all levels.” Sheikh Mohamed along with CEO of the Qatar 2022 Bid Committee will be giving the presentation before the voting begins.

The bidding for the World Cup began in January 2009 and is scheduled to end tomorrow (December 2, 2010). Countries bidding have applied for hosting in 2018 or 2022.
