Countess Alexandra Lights Candles for the Dead
Countess Alexandra was back in Odense yesterday evening to light candles for the 600 babies who die each year in Denmark as the patron of the Danish Infant Death Association.
Immediately afterwards, the Countess and Mayor Jan Boye of Odense attended an awards ceremony with the DID Association’s head, Hans Kristian Brødløs, in which they distributed awards to particularly deserving people; this year it was two politicians who had worked for equality between men and women who have lost babies, and Heather Spears, who has, since 1983, drawn line drawings of the deceased babies.
