Queen Beatrix attended a Concert
On November 10, Queen Beatrix was present at the “Prince Claus Concert” in Culture centre De Oosterpoort in Groningen.
The “Prince Claus Concert” takes place once every four years and is organized by the Prince Claus Conservatoire, part of the Hanze University Groningen. The Conservatoire has commissioned at the Swedish composer Sven-David Sandström to make a composition written on on texts of Prince Claus (1926-2002).
During the concert there was the world premiere of ‘Three Poems by Prince Claus, for choir, strings and percussion “, conducted by Peter Dijkstra. The motto of the Prince Claus concert is “Freedom is in the mind”.
The National Youth Choir, the choir and orchestra of the Musikhochschule Bremen, students of the Prince Claus Conservatoire and vocal ensemble MUSA cooperated with the concert.
