Crown Princess Maxima attended Two Conferences

On October 31, Crown Princess Maxima with Crown Prince Willem Alexander participated at International Conference on Agriculture, Food Security and Climate Change.His Royal Highness the Prince of Orange spoke at the opening of the International Conference in his capacity as chairman of the UN Advisory Board on Water and Sanitation (UNSGAB). The conference aims to show how agriculture can contribute to adequate food in 2050 and to reduce the effects of climate change.

The conference is an initiative of Dutch Minister G. Verburg of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality and lasts from October 31 to November 5.

On Thursday, November 4 Princess Maxima speaks as a UN consultant for Inclusive Finance for Development from Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon. Princess Máxima recommends this function Ban Ki-Moon on access to financial services worldwide and is also committed to financial services accessible to all.

On November 01, Crown Princess Maxima attended conference “The Future of Banking” from the Dutch Development Finance Company (FMO) in The Hague. The subject of the conference is the future model of banking in developing countries and the role of technology.

The conference is organized within the framework of the 40th anniversary of FMO and takes place in the Breeders Terminal. There was about 250 international officers present, including mainly CEOs of financial institutions. Among other speeches given by Mr. Nanno Terp, CEO of FMO, Mr. Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, Governor of the Nigerian Central Bank and Mr Adjiedj Bakas, trend watcher The Netherlands Development Finance Company (FMO) is the entrepreneurial development bank of the Netherlands. FMO invests risk capital in companies and financial institutions in developing countries (yet) have access to the common sources of debt and / or equity. The goal is thriving businesses and financial institutions to create can serve as engines of sustainable growth in their countries.

Earlier this year Princess Máxima held a speech at the conference FMO ‘Be Social, Make Profit’ in her capacity as Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development by the Secretary-General of the United Nations.
