Queen Sonja visits Refugee Camp in Kenya
This week Queen Sonja visited the world’s largest refugee camp, the Dadaab refugee camp in Kenya, in connection with the TV Campaign “On the run from war”.
The Queen is patron of the campaign. Queen Sonja was welcomed by NRC Secretary General Elisabeth Rasmusson and manager Hassan Khair. In the camp Her Majesty met with two families- one family lives in the camp since it was established in 1991, the other family just arrived in the camp. Afterwards the Queen visited one of the schools in the camp.
