UAE President back home after receiving Medical Treatment

The United Arab Emirates’ President, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nahayan, has returned home safely from Switzerland after recovering abroad after receiving medical treatment for an undisclosed illness, the state news agency WAM said on Friday:

“President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nahayan returned home safely this morning after recovery from illness.”

Last month, on August 18th, WAM had reported that the President had “undergone comprehensive medical tests, after which he received the necessary medical treatment, which was successful.” A ministry of presidential affairs statement was quoted saying on the 62 year old President was in “good health and will return home after a period of convalescence.”

He was welcomed upon arrival by Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; General HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and a number of sheikhs and senior state officials.
