Lalla Joumala attends Conference on Security in the Mediterranean

Chrifa Lalla Joumala Alaoui, Morocco’s ambassador to the United Kingdom, took part on Tuesday in Rabat the conference on “Euro-Mediterranean Security: Morocco and British perspectives”.

Speaking at the opening of a conference, Cherifa Lalla Joumala Alaoui called for turning the Euro-Mediterranean region into a shared zone for dialogue exchange and prosperity.she stressed the importance of this international forum which offers a platform to tackle Euro-Mediterranean security cooperation.the Ambassador highlighted that the contribution of high-ranking officials and experts from Europe and the Maghreb would encourage the exchange of ideas and expertise meant to deepen discussions among Mediterranean countries.

She hoped that the meeting will examine the progress achieved up till now and identify other mechanisms that would strengthen security even more in the Mediterranean zone.

The forum held at the initiative of Morocco’s ambassador in London Cherifa Lalla Joumala Alaoui in partnership with the Royal United Services Institute (Rusi) and the OCP Foundation is part of the consultation process on matters of shared interest. The opening session was attended mainly by King’s advisor André Azoulay, Energy minister Amina Benkhadra, State secretary to the Interior ministry Saad Hassar and State secretary to the Foreign ministry Latifa Akharbach.
