Lalla Hasna met Hillary Clinton in Washington

Princess Lalla Hasna was received on Tuesday in Washington by US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The pair discussed mainly the celebration next month in Morocco of the 40th anniversary of Earth Day. The Princess is in Washington on the occasion of the announcement of the celebration by the Kingdom of the 40th anniversary of Earth Day and the launch of the National Charter for the Environment and Sustainable Development for which King Mohammed VI called in the last State of the Nation Address.

Princess Lalla Hasna gave an overview of the achievements and projects of the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Protection of the Environment, she said the Foundation is moving forward on the path of fulfilling its principal mission namely raising awareness of players towards sustainable development through pilot demonstration projects based on partnership agreements involving all stakeholders. The princess noted that the preservation of the environment is the corner stone of development policies and strategies instituted by the Kingdom.

The princess is the chairwoman of the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Protection of the Environment since it was created in 2001. The foundation focuses on many different areas of sustainability and environmental advocacy including clean beaches and eco-schools,World leaders taking part in tackling environmental problems can greatly enhance the visibility of these problems and sometimes even speed up the path to solutions.
