Farah Pahlavi, widow of the late Shah of Iran, traveled to Cairo (Egypt) from March 4th and 8th, for the launching of her book: “An Enduring Love: My Life with the Shah” in Arabic.

In the official reception held for this event Farah Pahlavi thanked the Egyptian people, the late President Anwar Sadat and President Hosni Mubarak for their warm hospitality rendered to her late husband during a very difficult time.

The ceremony was attended by some literary figures, politicians, diplomats and a number of Iranians. They included the widow of Egyptian President Anwar Sadat, Jehan Sadat, former UN Secretary, Boutros BoutrosGhali, and the famous Egyptian actor, Omar Sharif.

The former Empress of Iran visited during this trip the tomb of the late Shah of Iran at the Al Rifai mosque and Jehan Sadat’s Painting Exhibition at American University in Cairo.

  1. Jim Gibson says:

Met you and the Shah in late 1968, you will always be the Empress to me. No one can ever fill that title the way you did. God bless you and your family, hopefully one day, you and your family can return to Iran and again be Empress!
