Dutch Royals Gather In Brussels For Routes Award

Tuesday afternoon, princess Margriet, Prince Constantijn and Princess Laurentien of The Netherlands gathered in Brussels to attend the award ceremony of the ‘Routes Award’.

The award of the European Cultural Fund was given to Stefan Kaegi and Borka Pavicevic. Princess Laurentien is president of the fund, and in that capacity held the first speech during the meeting in the Royal Flemish Theatre in Brussels. Princess Margriet handed out the awards to the winners.

Stefan Kaegi is an international theater maker and the co founder of the theater group Rimini Protokol. Borka Pavicevic is a cultural activist and the founder of the Centre for Cultural Decontamination in Belgrade. The ECF has been active for over 50 years to promote cultural cooperation in Europe. In 2008 the fund started the Routes Awards to honour the importance of artists and thinkers that make a difference for the European public.
