Plans for 2010
2010 is going to be a busy year for the Norwegian Royal Family. At the beginning of the year some of the upcoming events for the Royals have been named by a Norwegian newspaper.
In March 2010 Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit will pay an official visit to Malaysia.
In April Queen Margrethe II of Denmark will celebrate her 70th Birthday and the Norwegian Royals are evident on the guest list.
In June Princess Ragnhild, the oldest sister of King Harald, turns 80 years.
Most likely the biggest Royal event in 2010 will be the wedding of Crown Princess Victoria and Daniel Westling in Stockholm in June 2010. The entire Royal family, so the Royal and Crown Princely couple, as well as the Behns, are going to attend this event.
Aftenposten also speculated that Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands is going to pay a State Visit to Norway in June.
It is also said that the French President Nicolas Sarcozy is going to spend a State Visit to Norway in spring. The Royal couple will also pay a State Visit abroad. So far it has not been announced to which country they’ll go and when the visit will take place.
Crown Prince Haakon will pay a visit to Kazhakstan and China.
Other events the Norwegian Royals could probably attend are the upcoming weddings of Princess Madeleine of Sweden and Jonas Bergström, as well as the wedding of Prince Nikolaos of Greece and Tatiana Blatnik. No dates for these weddings have been given so far.
