Prince Laurent Calls Court Advisor ‘Rasputin’
In an interview with the newspaper ‘Het Laatste Nieuws’ on Thursday 31 December, prince Laurent of Belgium made another remarkable comment. In the interview he calls the chief advisor of his father, cabinet chef Jacques van Ypersele de Strihou ‘a Rasputin’.
The prince reveals: ‘He interferes with everything, wants to decide everything. But in the end he does not solve anything. You know, every king has his Rasputin. However, such a Rasputin only last that long.’
At the moment the prince is angry at van Ypersele because he was not involved with the new plan of the king to use green energy for the royal palace of Laeken. Prince Laurent has been active for years on the subject of renewable energy, and finds it odd that his advice was not asked.Filed under Belgian Royals
