Sheikha Mozah Launches Fakhoora Fund

HH Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser wife of the Emir of Qatar launched the Fakhoora fund on January 31,2009 which QR32.7m was raised through Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) towards the Al Fakhoora Fund. This is the first installment of donations that was raised through the emergency campaign by ROTA.

The fund aims to support the victims of Israeli onslaught on the Gaza Strip and medical expenses of students who were injured in the Israeli air raids.

Sheikha Mozah who donated $100milion also said “The world is passing through a tumultuous era. It is unable to take a united stand to address the complex issues and stop wars despite the UN’s interventions to stop wars.”

    This is a very brave and peaceful endeavour on the part of Qatar and HH Sheikha Mozah. In light of the fact, Qatar’s mercy ships were blocked, the peaceful approach is most commendable. If only all people involved were this civilized!
